Critical Responsibilities

  • Install, repair and provide maintenance for medical devices from our broad portfolio (begin with dialysis machines and blood cell therapy devices) in hospitals, other health care sites and patient homes. 
  • Inventory, service call scheduling and top-quality customer service, communications and satisfaction
  • Provides on-site clinical and technical instrumentation in-service
  • Adhere to all environmental, health and safety SOPs, equipment, policies and procedures
  • Successfully complete instrumentation training at Baxter’s training facility
  • Managing prioritizing workload and time management to successfully manage territory responsibilities
  • Travel, up to 60% overnight travel, mainly in the Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky area

Key Qualifications

  • Experience as a Field Service Technician, Service Technician, BioMed Engineer Tech, field- based cable and/or Internet installer OR recently degreed bio--medical engineers
  • IT knowledge on general connectivity, network integration of devices, wireless protocols, mobile network technologies, software support and cyber security standards
  • Demonstrated success or passion of learning/servicing new technologies
  • Demonstrated success in exercising independent judgement and draw accurate conclusions based on available information
  • Desire to “grow” with Baxter into the digital device space
  • Outstanding communications and customer follow-up
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred/Not Required
 
  • Basic knowledge of relational databases
  • Basic understanding of IT healthcare standards and Internet of Things technologies
  • Understanding the interoperability of devices which share, store and provide access to electronic health information in EMR
Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 2 years’ relevant experience, OR
  • Associate degree plus 5 years of experience in a related field services, electronics, technical, etc., OR
  • In lieu of a degree, 5-7 years field service experience
