Manufacturing Engineer

What Manufacturing Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health
  • Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for developing manufacturing processes, production floor layouts and associated tools. Reviews new designs for manufacturing. Designs process improvements to reduce product cost, process cycle time and improved product quality.

Job Summary
  • The primary purpose of this position is to manage assigned projects in engineering and monitor processes in the manufacturing environment. Analyze, suggest, and implement continuous improvements. Assist inspecting new machine and auxiliary equipment specifications including design and development when needed.

Accountabilities
  • Works directly on process improvements with manufacturing instruments to solve technical problems.
  • Plan, construct, and develop operating procedures for devices according to assigned project requirements.
  • Analyzes process performance through observation, process time studies, task/motion analysis for identification of improvements and balancing opportunities.
  • Use and understand Statistical based software and Quality tools (i.e., Process Maps, C&E Matrix, FMEA, and Design of Experiments for process changes or continuous improvements).
  • Write Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Change Development Process (CDPs) documents.
  • Work with Corporate Engineering, R&D, Operations and Quality as needed to support new equipment, processes or products.
  • Regularly write and execute validation/ engineering test protocols and reports.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering preferred (Mechanical, Biomedical or Chemical Engineering) or equivalent experience in related field
  • 0-2 years, related work experience preferred
  • Experience in Manufacturing field is preferred
  • Software: Microsoft Office; Minitab and CAD is a plus
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work as a member of a team
  • A Covid-19 vaccination is required in order to be employed in this position. This includes either: 2 doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine OR 1 dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine
