Landscape Architect Design Intern

JOB SUMMARY: The Landscape Designer/Architect INTERN will be exposed to the following:
Be responsible for all aspects of architectural assignments from utilizing graphic programs, master planning, and construction detailing and project implementation. Individual should be well versed in design concepts and planting design, hardscape materials, layout and grading.   Position will require initiative, unique design palette, team work and technological skills. Project creation and implementation coupled with vision and continuous education will guide this individual in the field. 
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Ø Perform site analysis, master planning, design development, and construction detailing
Ø Navigate daily with graphic programs: AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office
Ø Perform landscape architectural assignments with little to no supervision
Ø Work with other disciplines to coordinate drawing sets
Ø Relate design concepts to zoning ordinances and other external issues
Ø Consult with manufacturers, researches and proposes materials and products
Ø Participate in Construction Administration & Construction Observation acting as Owner's Representative. Respond to RFI, visit sites to gather information, and prepare punch lists
Ø Conduct quantity take-offs under general supervision. Draft proposals for review
Ø Advance designs prepared by others and draft per company standards
Ø Create and prepare design concepts and presentation packets for small projects
Ø Independently assess design requirements and project layout
Ø Implement knowledge of basic construction details and research more complex details and systems
Ø Utilize knowledge of basic planting design, hardscape materials and layout, and grading
Ø Develop 3D modeling of projects under general supervision and packages for presentation
Ø Assist in presentation drawings for large projects, imagery, and digital presentations
Ø Assist in and prepare presentation meetings both internally and externally
Ø Determine level of effort required for a given assignment and provide input on scheduling
Ø Create graphics for inclusion in marketing materials
Ø Join and attend local professional association events and educational sessions per management approval
