Duration: January 2022-August 2022 

Accountabilities: 
  • Function as an integral member of a team responsible for producing, packaging, and organizing physical seed 
  • Effectively communicate regularly with peers and supervisors regarding the status of projects and work activities 
  • Work with the team to integrate new technology of packaging corn seed into automated plastic clams for the planting season 
  • Implement process improvements using LEAN methodology 
  • Meet deadlines for shipping out seeds to trialing sites 
  • The second half of the co-op, the candidate will have the opportunity to improve their leadership skills by leading a team during the pollination season 
  • Perform all tasks and behave in a manner compliant with and in support of all safety and stewardship related company policies and practices, including completing all required company training courses 

Education & Experience: 
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Ag Engineering, Ag Business, Agronomy or another closely related field of study 
  • Sophomore or Junior status preferred 
  • Understand and use of modern agronomic practices 
  • All applicants must be eligible to work in the US 
 
Preferred Requirements: 
  • Capable of working in high or low temperature conditions in field or greenhouse 
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds 
  • Capable of working long hours during time-critical periods of the growing season 
  • Ability to use MS Office, especially Word, Excel, Power Point and other standard office software 
  • Innovative - To always look to implement new procedures or technologies to improve work efficiencies 
  • Communication-The ability to communicate information well (both written and spoken) is highly desired 
  • Detail Oriented-All procedures and policies must be understood and followed 
  • Optional Skills - Ability to speak Spanish
