Energetics Engineering Co-op (Fall 2021)

JOB SUMMARY

We are currently seeking an Energetics Engineering Co-op for Fall Semester 2021. This position is located in West Jefferson, Ohio.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

The selected candidate will work with our Energetics group specializing in the research, development, testing and evaluation (RDT&E) of energetic materials:
  • Applies job skills and applicable policies and procedures to complete a wide range of routine and nonroutine tasks
  • Conducts engineering analysis of data collected for various studies
  • Performs structured work assignments
  • Performs assignments of a routine degree of complexity by compiling and evaluating design and test data, analyzing technical data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process and material specifications
  • Assists in the interpretation of results and writing of small sections of technical reports
  • Completes assigned project work within schedule and budget constraints
  • Testing and evaluation of materials such as rubbers, plastics, and metals
  • Will safely work in a collaborative fast-paced, team environment
  • Keep accurate records of lab experiments
 

THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED

  • Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in a science-based discipline, such as physics, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or materials science and engineering
  • Sophomore standing or higher
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Knowledge of lab procedures and capable of keeping accurate lab records
  • Knowledge of testing and characterization equipment is a plus
  • Ability to prepare and deliver written reports and presentations
  • Must be a US Citizen
 

THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED

  • Experience working in a laboratory or previous related internship that involved energetic materials preferred, but not necessary
  • Experience with MATLAB, LabVIEW, and computational modeling
  • Experience with fabrication techniques, such as soldering, woodworking, welding, etc
