Associate Consultant

As a Veson Nautical Associate Consultant, you will function as a technical and business team member throughout the implementation, and deployment phases of the world’s leading enterprise software solution for maritime commercial operations. Your responsibilities will extend throughout the project lifecycle – understanding customer’s needs, gathering requirements, maintaining project scope and facilitating communications and accountability. As the subject matter expert for the system implementation you will participate in the implementation process including system configuration, solution fit, delivery of customized training, and ongoing support to end-users, IT, and management to ensure successful system adoption. You will work closely with the rest of Veson Nautical project team to plan and manage successful enterprise software implementations.

Responsibilities
  • Ability to add value to projects via direct execution of project tasks by leveraging SME of industry and Veson tools; could include consulting activities, installation and configuration, dataload, documentation and client training
  • Proactively address customer concerns and meet or exceed customer needs
  • Resolving, tracing and escalating critical issues to minimize project risk factors
  • Outstanding consulting, presentation, coaching and facilitation skills
  • Regularly communicates with management, both verbally and in writing, on status of initiatives in a professional and understandable manner
  • Ability to communicate with customers at all levels of the organization
  • Analytical thinking and attention to details, with solutioning capabilities for the most complex client workflows
  • Ability to become subject matter expert on commercial maritime industry and on Veson’s software products
 
 
Education and Experience
  • 0-3 years’ experience delivering end to end enterprise software implementations, integration, and training
  • Initially based 100% in Boston, however willingness to travel extensively (national and international)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Maritime industry knowledge and additional languages a plus
  • Experience in working with clients from various languages and cultural backgrounds a plus
  • Demonstrated planning and organizing skills
  • Analytical thinking and attention to details
  • Excellent interdepartmental communication and coordination
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, self-motivated, results-driven and well organized
  • Outstanding consulting, presentation, coaching and facilitation skills
  • Proven ability to proactively address customer concerns and meet or exceed customer needs
  • Experience with context-switching between client organizations, and ability to consistently apply best practices when devising solutions
  • Experience with ETRM/CTRM and Accounting system integrations
  • Exposure to programming languages and technologies such as C#, Javascript, scripting languages, and XML
  • Ability to become subject matter expert on commercial maritime industry and on Veson’s software products
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements
  • Able to work independently and in small teams
  • Knowledge and experience on trading, risk management, and physical trading in the commodity market
  • Financial Technologies and Accounting experience
  • Knowledge of maritime shipping industry
  • Insight on the energy, oil, and gas industries 
  • Familiar with SaaS software and Web programs, including web API.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server, MS Operating Systems, Microsoft SQL Server, and MS Office applications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to negotiate, influence and gain consensus with strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Desire to work in fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting
  • Exposure to project structure and project methodologies
  • Mavenlink Software experience a plus
  • Analytical thinking and attention to details
  • Demonstrated planning and organizing skills
