Industry Process Consultant

As an intern in the NAM Industry Process Consultant Team, you will work with lead engineers in modeling real-world fluid problems in the Transportation and Mobility, Aerospace and Defense and Industrial Equipment industries including engine cooling, external aerodynamics, splash and spray, air-intake systems, etc.

This is a paid six month internship which will be based in our Americas Headquarters located at 175 Wyman Street in Waltham, MA. Your schedule can be tailored around your academic schedule.

What will your role be …

You will gain extensive experience with commercial CFD pre & post-processing software and directly support customer projects through analysis, visualization and communication of CFD simulation results. You will also have the opportunity to research specific client problems and present to Industry Process Consultant team.
As an Industry Process Consultant Intern you will:
  • Assist lead engineers in modeling real-world fluids problems across multiple industries including engine cooling, external aerodynamics, splash and spray, air-intake systems, etc.
  • Gain extensive experience with commercial CFD pre & post-processing software
  • Develop new design concepts/parts based on analysis of simulation results
  • Generate advanced visualization of client results
  • Research specific client problems and present to Industry Process Consultant team

Your Key Success Factors
  • Actively enrolled in Master’s Degree program in ME, CFD, Aerodynamics, Physics or equivalent for the duration of the internship
  • Minimum cumulative GPA 3.3
  • Course/lab/project experience using CAE Tools
  • Course/lab/project experience using CAD Tools
  • Applied experience using CFD software is desired but nor required if the applicant has CAD experience
  • Participation in student design competitions is a strong plus point (Formula SAE, SAE Baja, AIAA Design Build Fly etc.)
  • Possesses strong interest and solid knowledge of fluid dynamic fundamentals
  • Basic UNIX Skills, Script programming and experience with complex graphics tools
  • Strong communication skills in English -- written/verbal communication and presentation skills
