Quality Assurance Internship

Milk Specialties Global has an exciting Quality Assurance Internship opportunity based out of our Human Nutrition facility in Mountain Lake, MN.  This is a paid, full-time internship (40 hours per week) over the course of the summer, with the opportunity to work part-time throughout the school year.

The Quality Assurance Intern will be an active member of our quality assurance team but will interface with every aspect of the Milk Specialties Global Operations and Supply Chain while working in the manufacturing facility. The Intern will be assigned duties that provide meaningful practical hands-on experience across the areas of quality assurance, operations, plant sanitation and the entirety of the supply chain. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate, detailed oriented individual who thrives in a nimble and fast-paced production environment.

Our Quality Assurance Intern Will:
·      Perform Analytical, Chemical, Physical and Organoleptic Testing on raw materials, in-process samples and/or finished products.
·      Calibration of equipment
o  NIR
o  LECO
o  FOSS
o  Salt analyzer, etc.
·      Package and prepare samples for shipment to third party testing locations
·      Respond to internal calls to answer technical product questions
·      Participation as a member of the plant safety team
·      Attend all plant quality meetings
·      Read and properly interpret documents such as, GMP manuals, HACCP programs and procedural manuals.
 
 
 
Requirements for Quality Assurance Internship:
 
·      Candidate must be completing either their sophomore or junior year at an accredited university while working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Biology.
·      Intermediate or advanced with MS Office applications including Excel.
·      Willingness to roll up sleeves and perform a variety of tasks necessary to support the organization.
·      Proven leadership skills.
·      Strong analytical thinking skills and quick to acclimation to systems.
·      Prior experience in manufacturing setting desired but not required.
·      Willing to relocate to Mountain Lake, MN or reside within reasonable commuting distance to the facility
