Inside Sales Executive - New Business Development

Based on our growth, we are seeking a Inside Sales Executive to focus on new business development activities, outreach and lead generation to targeted schools and leadership within the primary market regions of Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Kentucky state areas. Top performers will focus on outreach to develop new business opportunities through an active outbound marketing and warm-call introductions, email, e-campaigns and customer awareness (marketing) efforts. This role requires prospecting, warm/cold-call introductions and engaging top leadership (IE: Superintendents, school leadership, etc.) in school districts to establish rapport, represent Vartek’s expertise and services, and generate opportunities for new business development. Role Summary:

The Inside Sales Executive will work internally from our corporate office in Dayton, Ohio and is responsible for proactive, outbound customer calls (cold and warm calls), social networking, and email communications to introduce Vartek, qualify and develop project opportunities and establish Vartek as a known school resource and expert in the educational market space. Includes follow-up on trade show and website leads, and support marketing and lead generation campaigns. The role requires collaboration with field sales, client services and internal departments to support sales growth, marketing campaigns and internal efforts.

The "right" person for this role will bring a minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience and success in prospecting, qualifying and influencing customers to develop new business opportunities. Ideal hires will be results-oriented and self- directed with a consultative approach, strong communication skills, and interest in engaging Superintendents and school leadership for technology services solutions. (Industry-related technology sales or educational sales experience is a plus.)

Primary Responsibilities

Generate leads and new business opportunities through a consistent, targeted, blended-approach of warm-call introductions, email communication, e-campaigns, and social networking.
Develop rapport and relationships through strong phone, email, and social networking (LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.) communication with Superintendents, school leadership, and other decision makers to present the Vartek value proposition and establish Vartek as a solution-oriented technology resource partner.
Support advanced direct-mail, e-blasts and PR campaigns to create lead generation and awareness of Vartek’s technology services and solutions.
Utilize a targeted database and CRM program to document, track and manage the sales pipeline.
Research, collaborate and work with internal departments to generate leads (in local customer accounts markets), gain referrals and opportunities to market Vartek for pipeline development and sales growth.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of sales experience preferred
  • Strong ability to create customer rapport and relationships.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Strong sales skills in prospecting, qualifying and influencing customers.
  • Performance-oriented team player with ability to work internally and collaborate with sales and internal departments.
  • Experience with salesforce.com or other CRM / database management software.
