WHEN? HOW MUCH? WHO?
We are currently searching for 2021 Summer Intern to work flexible dates - From May 2021 to August 2021. Hours will be 7AM-3:30PM (M-F). Pay is DOE: $17/hr. Work locations will be at either or Hillside Campus location. Those interning for class credit are highly preferred. Internships may lead to regular full-time employment, but this is dependent on interns’ overall performance, company need and demand. There are no guarantees. Job Summary:
Assist members of the Applications Engineering Team in a department assets 5S project. Candidate must demonstrate an understanding of process development and improvement as well as the concepts of lean and 5S.
Essential Functions:
• Interface and collaborate with other members of the Applications Engineering department, Product Engineers, Quality Engineers, Mechanical Design Engineers, Production Supervisors and Production Operators
• Collect information on existing assets
• Organize the list of assets
• Evaluate the status of the assets
• Create a standard documentation format for the assets
• Ensure that the process of documentation is being followed for new assets
Qualifications:
• Knowledge of:
o Process Development
o Process Improvement
o Principles of 5S
o Principles of Lean Manufacturing
o CAD tools such as AutoCAD
o Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills
• Organized, skilled in technical writing, and thorough in documenting work
Educational Requirements:
Currently enrolled in A.S. A.A.S, B.S., M.S., or PhD program in Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or similar
Helpful Coursework:
Intro to Engineering, Design and Manufacturing Process, Enterprise Engineering, Systems Evaluation, System Optimization, Systems Engineering, Engineering Project Management, Computer Aided Design and Graphics.
