Global Procurement and Supplier Quality – Category Procurement Intern

Introduction

 

The Category Procurement Intern will be part of the Global Quality and Procurement team located at Visteon’s Corporate Headquarters in Van Buren Township Michigan. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to support teams that negotiate with Automotive Semiconductor suppliers and advanced product development teams.

The Role

 

· Analyze market data on purchased components and forecast commercial attributes, supply capacity, and product lead-time. Validate by meeting with key suppliers.

· Support Category buyers on RFI/RFQ’s and analyze results.

· Engage with product development teams to document platform designs and commercial attributes.

 

On a typical project, you will interface with a core team of 2-6 people including

· Buyers, Platform Design Architects, Supplier Quality Engineers, and Electronics Suppliers.

· The position will be located in Van Buren Township, Michigan and will interface with team members throughout Visteon locations in the Americas, Asia and Europe.

 

More specifically, you will

· Provide essential support in evaluating competitiveness, documenting platform architectures utilized on current/future vehicle programs, and product quoting to support Visteon’s Procurement and Supplier Quality organization.

 

The Requirements

 

To be a good fit for the GQP Category Procurement internship you will have:

· An interest in learning about market forces and their impact to electronics components.

· Ability to align commercial data to product designs and document the impact of changing technology.

· Working within a global team

 

 

Desired Competencies:

· Completion of at least two years of Undergraduate studies in Business – Purchasing, Engineering, or Quality

· Project leadership

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Expert knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

· Ability to work within a team

· Strong interpersonal skills
