2021 Summer/Fall Brewery Trainee Program Co-Op

Brewery Trainee Program

Dreaming big is at our core. Brewing the world’s most loved beers and creating meaningful experiences is what inspires us. We are owners, empowered to lead real change, deliver on tough challenges, and take accountability for the results. We are looking for talent that shares these values, that is ambitious, bold & resilient. We want talent that is looking for fast career growth, cross-functional experiences, and robust training & development. Does this sound like you? If so, we encourage you to apply to our Brewery Trainee Co-op (BTPc) Program. We believe in investing in our future leaders today and through a concentrated training program, in-depth exposure to our supply operations and relevant experiences right from the beginning, our co-op program is crafted to fast-track the careers of future leaders and change makers. Over the course of a six-month experience, our Co-ops will gain a 360 view of the supply business while gaining experience in our Brewery organization, as well as flexing creative and analytical muscles through project work in an area of interest.

BTPc Program Details:
  • Supply Induction (several locations) with local Leadership team, to learn about Anheuser-Busch’s overall strategy, business functions, and people structure.
  • Field experience to understand the business, followed by a business-specific challenge within the departments of the brewery
  • Deep dive into support functions, leadership & functional trainings and exposure to senior leaders throughout the program.
  • Development opportunities to help boost skillset and build long-term leadership potential.
  • Upon successful completion of the co-op you will be given the opportunity to present your final project(s) and results to our members of Zone senior leadership.

We currently have opportunities in our Research Pilot Brewery in St. Louis starting on June 7th through mid-December.

About the RPB
At the Research Pilot Brewery you will be part of a team managing an area of our brewing process. You will be manually moving beer, grinding in malt, and reporting data to upper management…think of us as a very efficient Microbrewery in the middle of the largest brewery in the country.

You are going to be a part of our company’s Innovations group which is responsible for the development of new products and processes. You will be challenged constantly here to provide NEW high quality beers and flavored malt beverages (FMB’s) in a SAFE and efficient manner to support the future growth of our company.

There are many things that you will be doing here throughout your co-op but the one thing I can promise is that you will not be bored. Among day-to-day production, you will be asked to manage an improvement project, present a ‘Beer Science’ topic to your peers, own an area of the brewery to ensure it has all the tools we need, and present about everything you learned to our director and other Innovation leaders.

This is not like many engineering co-ops you may encounter out there. It is very hands on and manual. You will be moving hoses, opening valves, cleaning tanks, transferring products, centrifuging beer, etc. To complete these tasks you will be working with the equipment you are currently learning about in school. There are flow meters, plate and frame coolers, glycol jacketed tanks, yeast separators, steam heaters, and many lab instruments that you will be responsible for calibrating and operating.

In the end I believe you will get out of this Co-Op what you put into it. So come ready to work and ready to learn and I know you will have a great experience that will stand out on your resumes.
