Industrial Engineer Intern or Co-op
This position at Nilpeter provides the opportunity to support the production management team being a part of driving and executing a large process improvement project within the Inventory process of an International Flexographic Printing Press Manufacturer. The projects main focus is reworking the inventory flow to the production floor to optimize and streamline the flow of parts to and from production. This position is an internship.
Responsibilities
• Gain understanding of Inventory functions and disciplines
• Build relationships with the production staff and managers as well as interact with senior management
• Design and document processes for inventory delivery to production floor
• Develop solutions for efficiently reworking parts retrieval processes for new builds
• Develop solutions for parts returns to inventory after production builds
• Work with management as well as independently execute process improvement solutions
• Assist in the analysis and development of production metrics
• Analysis and reporting of findings to other team members and management
• Continuously fine tune functions to build improved processes to attain production and quality goals
• Improve team communication and engagement
Requirements
• Recent graduate or currently pursuing a degree in: Industrial Engineering, Operations/Logistics and Supply Chain Management or other related majors
• Previous experience in an operations environment • Graduate, Senior or Junior; 3.0 GPA
• Proven people/project leadership throughout your academic career (on or off campus)
• Takes ownership of assigned work from inception to delivery; keeping manager up-to-date on progress, challenges and opportunities along the way.
• Self-directed, manage time and effort without need for constant supervision
• Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment
• Clearly articulates design approach and rationale behind proposed design solutions
• Effective facilitation, presentation and team building skills
