Part Time Technical Assembly of Metal Parts, Clean Facility

About Advanced Laser and why we are hiring:
We are a contract metal manufacturer that has contracts in the fields of IT, Aviation, Medical, Farm and Recreational Equipment, and Government. AL started as a three-person company in 1996 and has grown to over 170 employees between two different Wisconsin locations. We are adding talent to our team to support an increase in our business demand which opened many new positions within our company!
An introduction to the team:
You will report to Cole, the Lead in our Technical Assembly Building. Cole leads a team of about 40 employees and is goal oriented and driven to keep our company successful. Cole’s team works very close with each other in areas that look like pods. His team is detailed and committed to sending out work that meets our high-quality standards. The assembly building was built in 2019, is temperature controlled, and a very clean manufacturing environment.
What will it be like to work at AL?
Our technical assembly team puts together complex pieces – generally that are only a step in the process of making something much larger. You can expect to work in an area with the same small team most of the time, but also get the opportunity to try something new when our demands change. Most of our team is cross trained in another area or task to always stay busy and add value. You can wear comfortable clothes like jeans and a t-shirt and you can expect to be on your feet most of the time you are at work.
Some things you would be doing at AL:
Perform often repetitive, detailed and complicated assembly of complex components accurately including precise drilling, deburring and countersinking.
Read, interpret and follow detailed blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble products.
Complete all paperwork required and issuing components/hardware in ERP.
Utilize hand and pneumatic tools safely to complete assembly.
Pack parts for shipping taking care not to damage parts.
Detect and report defective materials.
Perform quality inspection/checks per quality documentation/control plan.
What hours will I work?
Most of our college student work in the evenings after 4:00 p.m. We can create regular flexible shifts no less than 4 hours/evening worked. We would work together to make a schedule that works for school needs.
Workplace fun:
Our IMPACT team ensures our employee receive great food, prizes, and fun activities, including a summer picnic and holiday party, throughout the year.
Benefits:
Even part time employees enjoy the benefit of our Near Site Clinic that allows employees to have primary care, physical therapy, and behavioral health for free or a very low-cost payment. We also have an onsite Physical Therapist two days per week, free health coaching each month, and other wellbeing initiatives! Part time employees also receive some Holiday Pay!
