Under the direction of an Industrial Engineer or Industrial Engineering Manager, the co-op will assist in the analysis and development of operational improvement opportunities for all of Cooper's facilities. The scope of the opportunities include incentive pay systems, appropriation requests, methods analysis, capacity analysis, plant and office layouts, equipment and labor evaluations, process benchmarking, simulation analysis, capital budgeting, ergonomic assessments, product complexity analysis, Cooper's Lean Six Sigma process analysis and advanced technology assessments.
 
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be currently enrolled student majoring in Industrial Engineering or Industrial Technology and having completed at least the freshman year
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Display maturity and a high level of professionalism
  • Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions and deal with variables
  • Good organizational, computer skills and willingness to travel is required
