AFB International - Research & Development Intern (Food Science)
An intern in the R&D department will work within our product development team. This position will work on projects to create palatants for wet and dry pet food using technologies such reaction chemistry and spray drying with some historical data mining and data entry in our laboratory information system. Additional work will use analytical chemistry techniques to characterize the chemical and physical parameters of wet and dry pet food.
The primary responsibility of this position will be preparing experimental samples, collecting data, summarizing data into spreadsheets.
These positions will report to an R&D Manager. Qualified candidates will be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program, preferably in Animal Science, Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Qualified candidates will be self-starters who can work with cross functional teams in a fast-paced environment. Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards for quality and documentation is a must in all internship positions. These positions will require the ability to communicate effectively across a variety of departments.
