Logistics: Industrial Engineering Internship (2020/2021)
Position Description
Industrial Engineering Interns will have the opportunity to work in a live retail chain environment. Interns will also be able to see what it takes to be successful as part of the Kohl’s Management Team. Interns will also have exposure to senior level management in the logistics field, as well as working relationships and communication with other interns throughout the company. Past Industrial Engineering Internship Projects have included:
- Project Management of new distribution center startup
- Case study on inventory strategies
- Process Modeling of fulfillment techniques
- Date analysis of work standards
- Capital project planning for distribution centers
The internship will conclude with a final project by researching a specific area or opportunity within the Logistics department. The final project will be presented to members of your department in addition to members of senior leadership.
Internship Overview
- Industrial Engineering student graduating in either December 2020 or May 2021
- Permanent US Citizens
- Corporate internship located in Milwaukee, WI; Field internship located in Plainfield, IN
- Mentor partnership with current IE
- Own a project from analysis, implementation plan, etc. culminating in a final presentation to senior Logistics leaders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with statistical analysis, work measurement, and process analysis
- Demonstrates initiative and drive
- Confident decision making and leadership skills
Summer Experience
- Located in Milwaukee, WI, Plainfield, IN, or Etna, OH
- 10 Week Paid Internship
