Fall 2020 Product Planning Co-op

Description:
Co-ops support daily and long term project functions of their respective teams. These students will assist project engineers with various new product development and existing product support activities, including completing test projects on refrigeration or air conditioning systems and customer support. The Co-ops will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on activity in the labs, handling large volumes of data, and conducting technical calculations, as well as implementing new technologies. The positions will require positive, productive interactions with multiple internal resources of varying disciplines. Multiple Positions Available.
Responsibilities:
  • Research related to product sales, pricing, cost and overall profitability
  • Competitive benchmarking and customer research
  • Improvement of visual, project management and lean tools and processes
  • Lead, facilitate, participate and assist in global meetings, project planning, marketing, trade shows and other business events
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Undergraduate student currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering Management, or related field.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • Strong project and data organization skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and MS Office skills (specifically Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM) during the scheduled semester.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Undergraduate student currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Marketing or related field.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Prior professional employment preferred (high school job or co-op/ internship).
  • Interest or experience in mechanical or electrical equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to learn, utilize and educate team members on new web-based applications, programs and software that may be required for the job.
  • Second year or later in undergrad program preferred.
  • Returning co-ops with project engineering experience at Emerson are HIGHLY preferred.
