Research Technician – Parkinson’s disease risk factors

 Job Description:
The Henderson Lab, in the Center for Neurodegenerative Science, is currently building a research team for the study of neurodegenerative diseases. As a Research Technician, you will participate in projects aimed at understanding the underlying etiology of diseases like Parkinson's disease and evaluating treatments for those diseases in preclinical models.
Roles: A Research Technician is an integral member of any laboratory. You will participate in all lab projects and be given the opportunity to contribute as an author to lab publications, pursue promotion, and to prepare for your next career step.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or higher degree in Biology, Neuroscience, or a related field
  • 1+ years of experience in wet lab research
Desired Skills - In addition to a responsible and collaborative ethos, you should possess the following experience:
  • Animal research
  • Biochemistry (protein extraction, Western blot)
  • Molecular biology (PCR, cloning)
  • Maintenance of lab notebook
Candidates with the Following Expertise Will be Preferred:
  • Animal surgery
  • Animal husbandry
  • Sterile cell culture
