PURPOSE
The successful candidate will use his/her experience to work with internal customers to design factory and manufacturing spaces to support new operations or optimize existing ones. The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of space design, layout and construction, including directing Architects to design these spaces, develop a project schedule, work through permitting and budgeting, manage the execution of construction and buyoff and manage the move in and finally project closure. In this position, the candidate will be interacting with the engineering and manufacturing teams to update and run capacity models, analyze manufacturing process flows and identify opportunities for improvement of cycle time and efficiency in our various North American factories 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Work closely with internal customers to design efficient cost-effective and manufacturing spaces
  • Develop and manage to completion, project schedules and budgets for construction projects
  • Develop SOW’s (Statement of Work) for construction projects and negotiate estimates with outside contractors for same.
  • Perform all projects to industry standards; complying with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations, chemical handling and following safe work habits
  • Must be able to follow and enforce Standard Operating Procedures, where applicable, and provide input, during departmental document review, for the continual improvement of departmental procedures
  • Perform work flow analysis and cycle time studies
  • Research state-of-the-art work flow design methods and tools
  • Identify opportunities to optimize batching, cycle time, and capacity
 
 
 
 
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • B.S. degree in an engineering field, Industrial Engineering preferred plus 7-9 years of experience or M.S. plus 5-7 years of experience.
  • Strong critical thinking and communication skills
  • Ability to adopt new processes & systems quickly
  • Strong AutoCAD experience
  • Excellent MS office skills including Visio and MS Project
  • Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing/SPC/Data analysis (Six Sigma certification preferred)
  • Proven Project Management experience required.
  • Prior experience working in a clean room environment required
  • Ability to work with hazardous materials and chemicals and follow safety procedures.
  • Technical Writing experience preferred.
 
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Requires the ability to perform routine bending and lifting and pushing of 10 – 20 lbs,
