Industrial Design Intern

What to Expect:
We are seeking an intern to support the Industrial Design team in the development of next-generation products in the Telecom Infrastructure.  The intern will:
  • Define the industrial design of new products. Work with company stakeholders, including industrial design creative direction, interaction design, product management, and downstream marketing to strategically support industrial design across product platforms.
  • Bring new industrial design concepts to life through sketching, 3D modeling, material explorations, and full-scale mockups. Work with product development and engineering stakeholders to bring these design visions to reality.
  • Create a final project report and present it to stake holders and senior executives.
You Will Make an Impact By:
  • Evaluating existing design and finding areas on how ergonomics and user installations can be simplified.
  • Create a design strategy for integration of additional modules to Base Station Antennas.
Required Qualifications for Consideration:
  • Currently a junior, senior or graduate student working toward a BS or MS in Industrial Design.
  • Proven strong academic performer with a minimum GPA of 3.2.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator (other comparable software also acceptable).
  • Excellent sketching skills and 3D modeling experience using Solidworks. Prefer experience with Rhino 4.0.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word.
  • Understanding of the manufacturing process, specifically tailored to understand part mold ability and material selection.
  • Self-motivated to complete all task required of the job and high attention to detail.
  • Passion showing an appreciation for strong aesthetics.
  • Problem / opportunity identification.
  • Research.
  • Idea generation.
