Pharmacy Technician

Salary: $14.89 per hour

This position provides assistance to pharmacists in processing medications for distribution to patients and assists in filling cabinets/canisters for computerized pharmacy dispensing systems. Position assists in maintaining daily operations of a pharmacy, including retrieving medications for the pharmacist, checking inventory and unit dose packaging. All work is checked by a registered pharmacist.
This position will work a variety of hours to cover evenings, holidays and weekends.
Licenses and Certifications:
Per ARSD 20:51:29, successful applicant must be certified nationally; or currently be enrolled in an accredited training program and pass the certification within two years of hire.    
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Knowledge of:
  • the principles, practices, and standards of a pharmacy;
  • pharmaceutical terminology and abbreviations;
  • drug names.
Ability to:
  • analyze information;
  • follow instructions and relay information clearly and concisely;
  • maintain pharmaceuticals and related supplies;
  • operate office and pharmacy equipment;
  • work with a variety of computer applications;
  • input data using a computer;
  • perform all duties in an accurate manner;
  • complete all job duties with attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
