Industrial Engineer

Sonalysts, Inc. is seeking to add a driven and self-motivated entry to mid-level multidisciplinary engineer with an interest in data science, quality engineering, human factors, electrical engineering, automation, and medical simulations to our team.
 
The current opening is focused on identifying an individual who is interested in providing all-around support that will aid in the transition of a prototype medical training manikin (ocular) towards full-scale commercial production.
 
Applicants should be interested in providing simultaneous support to an array of defense projects across multiple branches of the military (predominantly the U.S. Army and Navy).
 
What you will be doing:
  • Provide engineering support during transition to full-scale production, including analysis of current manufacturing processes, participation in additive manufacturing, and design, integration, and implementation of automation to optimize production.
  • Authoring technical procedures for manufacturing, assembly, and testing, and technical drawing packages.
  • Preparing and publishing manuscripts and presentations to medical conferences, journals, and symposiums.
  • Supporting data collection events within the field of human subjects research.
  • Logistical support liaising with manufactures, customers, and government sponsors.
  • Product training curriculum and product documentation development.
  • Additional, non-medical, engineering tasks in support of the USN submarine fleet (electro-optical periscopes, masts, and sensors).
 
Working on interesting and challenging projects including:
  • Medical modeling and simulation
  • Design, development, data analysis, and testing in support of innovative research projects.

Required Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship and be eligible for U.S. Government security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Human Factors, or related technical discipline.
 
Strongly Desired Experience/Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with G-code and electronic control systems
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks design software (Mechanical, Electrical Schematic, and/or PCB)
  • Strong technical report writing and editing skills
  • Strong understanding of behavioral statistics. Familiarity with SPSS
  • Prior experience publishing research in academic journals, conferences, or trade shows
  • Prior work or research experience supporting medical projects or programs
  • Prior work or research experience supporting DoD projects or programs
  • Ability to travel by air in the United States
