Industrial Engineering Co-op

**PLEASE READ MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS BEFORE APPLYING**
 
POSITION SUMMARY
Assist the Industrial Engineering department to successfully achieve manufacturing goals and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. The IE Intern will receive assignments from the Industrial Engineering Manager, or an assigned representative, and will be encouraged to contribute ideas and suggestions. The IE Intern will have the opportunity to interact with various departments including quality control, materials, test, assembly, engineering, paint, re-manufacturing, and purchasing to perform the work that is assigned.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Audit and update work instructions at various plants.
2. Audit and upgrade work station bill of materials.
3. Improve material handling methods.
4. Perform time studies.
5. Line balance assembly processes.
6. Assist with new product introductions.
7. Provide technical support to the assemblers.
8. Provide input for assembly tools and fixtures.
9. Assist with plant layout and workstation design.
10. Learn and use ERP manufacturing software.
11. Solve assembler ergonomic issues.
12. All other duties or projects as assigned.
13. Learn Product launches, line set-ups, rebalances and build outs. 
14. Learn to create station layouts and complete work instructions. 
 
*Job duties will vary depending on business unit and location of internship.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Student in a Sophomore standing or greater working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field for the entire duration for the internship.
  • Graduation date after December 2020.
  • For Co-Op opportunities, must be willing to travel or relocate to Oshkosh, WI for 6-7 months starting as early as December 2019/January 2020.
  • Student must be a U.S. person. Generally, a "U.S. Person" is a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or an individual who has been admitted as a refugee or granted asylum. Visas are not included in this definition.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • JDE experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Mechanical aptitude to include an interest in automotive repair.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
