Summary:
DPG co-op/internship positions are designed to provide students with the opportunity to apply their education in a professional setting, while gaining valuable industry experience and transferable skills.
 
Job Functions:
·    Create or revise engineering documentation such as work instructions, process specs, engineering changes, etc.
·    Investigate Routings/Bill of Materials
·    Investigate process improvement opportunities
·    Work with Lean Team to develop and implement lean solution such as: designing and building carts and racking for tools and parts, designating locations for materials, 5S activities, 5S audits, material flow improvements , and more.
·    Other duties may include supporting the production floor, cost improvement projects, and ERP updates
 
Specifications Required:
·    Excellent organization and time-management
·    The ability to prioritization and multi-task
·    Creative problem-solving and independent decision making
·    Self-starter, innovative, and team-oriented
·    Strong Listening and interpersonal skills
 
Education & Experience:
·    High School Diploma or GED required
·    Education in an Engineering discipline, preferable Industrial or Mechanical
·    Experience in Microsoft Office
·    Preferred experience in time studies and technical writing
·    Mechanically inclined to work with hand tools
 
Working Conditions:
Office and plant environment - requires walking, light lifting, and occasional exposure to temperature and noise. Time may be spent split between two locations: DPG locations, Dayton and Vandalia (primary).
