Summer Grad Intern – GCO (Global Health Economics)

Amgen’s 10 – 12 week summer internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient’s lives. This internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation. 

Relocation in the form of a miscellaneous allowance will be provided for eligible candidates.

The intern will be working in the Global Health Economics (GHE) department on projects in the Cardiovascular, Inflammation or Neuroscience Therapeutic areas. The intern will work on one primary project, and be involved with several others during the summer. The intern may work on different kind of projects such as health economic modelling, database analysis, literature review, and/or patient reported outcomes. The role would also include interacting with the Global Payer and Value and Access counterparts to support field based conversations through the development and approval of health economic tools.

Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria: 

18 years or older

Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent

Completion as a first year graduate student before internship starts and currently enrolled in a Master’s program for a Masters internship OR a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR PhD for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university

Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship assignment

Must not be employed at the time the internship starts

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Health Economics, Outcomes Research, Health Services Research, Pharmacy Administration or related discipline
  • Currently pursuing a Master’s or PhD degree program with at least 1 year of academic work
  • Previous project and publication work
  • Experience in analyzing large databases and in particular claims data.
  • Candidate should have a basic knowledge of econometrics including regression analysis and economic modeling/decision analysis
