Position Description:
  • Lead process development of highly specialized laser cutting, scribing, bonding and drilling for high volume manufacturing.
 
Day to Day Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership in developing and transferring laser cutting, scribing, bonding and drilling processes to high volume production.
  • Design, plan, and execute experiments, spearhead data and root cause analyses, and optimize processes.
  • Mentor, lead, and train junior engineers and technicians.
  • Develop roadmaps and Implement continuous improvement programs to better custom-made laser process tools and to improve process capability and capacity.
  • Drive continual process and tool upgrades to support new product developments.
 
Travel Requirements (please note if international): Up to 15%, some international
 
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: 40+
 
Education and Experience (minimum required for consideration)
  • M.S. Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • >10 years in laser process engineering.
 
Required Skills (These are skills that candidates MUST possess)
  • High volume manufacturing experience.
  • Extensive experience with laser processes, motion vision, and imaging recognition.
  • Expert in formal DOE, statistical analysis, and root cause analyses.
  • Experienced in managing, mentoring, and training junior engineers and technicians.
 
Desired Skills (These are skills that would be nice for candidates to possess)
  • Ph.D. in laser related fields.
  • MEMS fabrication and packaging.
  • Handling of glass materials.
  • SPC and other statistical tools.
  • Knowledgeable in electro-optical testing.
  • Hands-on experience in tool maintenance.
  • Experienced w/ Matlab or equivalent. Experienced w/ Python or equivalent.
