Technology Systems Engineer

PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE:  
The TS Engineer’s primary duty is to assist the Technology Systems Manager with the responsibilities within the department, focusing primarily on low voltage systems and medical equipment. 
 
DUTIES:
·        Read and Interpret Architectural, Civil, MEP/FP, Medical Equipment drawings and specifications.
·        Develop REVIT standards & families with input from others.
·        Create low voltage designs within REVIT with input from others.
·        Coordinate low voltage requirements with Architectural, Civil, MEP/FP and Medical Equipment drawings and specifications with input from others.
·        Derive quantities from drawings and estimate the labor and material needed (cost for both labor and material will be given).
·        Ability to work with low voltage suppliers on material orders and delivery schedules.
·        Verification of electrical and low voltage rough in’s for project sites.
·        Organizing manufacturer product data sheets for reuse on a project.
 
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
·        Promote teamwork and positive communication among employees/teams.
·        Attend and participate in miscellaneous functions and meetings, sharing knowledge, information, and ideas when needed.
·        Perform additional assignments and assume additional responsibilities as directed by supervisor.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
·        Expert level with AutoDesk’s REVIT
·        Effective college math (Algebra skills)
·        Competence with Office 365, Bluebeam Revu, Auto Desk’s Auto Cad, Auto Desk’s BIM 360
·        Self-starter
·        Ability to Collaborate
·        Pleasant, Detail Oriented, Open to learning new procedures and software. 
·        Effective oral and written communication.
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
·        Must have an Associates in Architectural Technology, OR a Bachelor’s in Architectural Engineering (General or Electrical Focus). 
·        1 – 5 years’ relevant experience
 
WORKING CONDITIONS:
 
Spends much of their time in an office environment, many assignments are based at on-site job office, either at their desk or meeting with management, architects’ clients or subcontractors. Often travels locally by automobile to others’ offices. Walks around the construction site to monitor progress and quality controls, where weather and conditions can reach extremes, is part of the job requirement.
 
Regional travel. Possibly overnight travel to other offices in the future.  
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to: sit for long periods of time. Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects and materials. Lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds. Stand or walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed. Must have acceptable vision (either naturally or with correction).
