MA/STNA Addiction Services

Samaritan Behavioral Health, Inc. and OneFifteen Health are partnering to provide care on the OneFifteen campus - https://onefifteen.org/ - a state-of-the-art tech-enabled treatment program, dedicated to the full and sustained recovery of people suffering from opioid addiction and other behavioral health disorders.
The Medical Assistant (MA)/STNA functions as a member of a team to assist in the provision of clinical care, intervention, educational services and care coordination to OneFifteen patients.
The MA/STNA is also responsible to assist the medical provider in the provision of patient care, as well as provide internal chart audits and collection of data relevant to the delivery and promotion of services.
This position requires demonstrated critical thinking skills.
Job Duties Include
  • Assist with patient treatment and medical group services, as requested.
  • Assist with obtaining and tracking medication pre-authorizations.
  • Assist with training of new MAT medical staff.
  • Serve as a medical liaison with specialty and local pharmacy and labs.
  • Collaborate with referral source, internal team members and external service providers to ensure appropriate patient care and continuity of care.
  • Complete all direct service documentation within established agency and departmental guidelines.
  • Provide care coordination with physicians' based externally.
  • Provide other direct, face-to-face, services to patients according to departmental standards, including check-in information, vital signs, urine drug screens, etc.
  • Provide medication management services to coordinate clinical care in the form of face to face, telephone calls, report writing and case conference meetings.
  • Demonstrate clinical knowledge and skills relevant to the appropriate clinical service and intervention method provided to Substance Abuse patients.
  • Manage physician orders, including calling in medications, educating clients regarding proper use of medications, side effects, and coordinating lab work according to departmental standards.
  • Schedule appointments for MAT patients including induction, physical exam, meetings with nurse practitioner and/or psychiatrist, and regular follow-up appointments.
  • Assist the psychiatrist and/or nurse practitioner as requested during the provision of med-somatic services.
  • Assist with lab requisitions and urine drug screen collection.
  • Respond and comply with all administrative/managerial email communication within the requested time frame.
  • Ensure that medical testing/labs/prescriptions are scanned into the EMR in a timely manner.
  • In conjunction with other team members, aid in the appointments for patients and help maintain psychiatrists’ schedule.
