Job Responsibilities

As a key member of Operations Process + Technology group, you will work closely with Operations, Quality, IT, Engineering, and Business unit functions to develop and implement the processes, systems, and technology roadmap to enhance business performance. A successful candidate will have a background and interest in business process and strategic thought leadership, will be able to quickly understand the specific business needs of Viasat, and possess the influence needed to gain consensus and drive improvement. He/she will be skilled at maintaining a bimodal focus, driving results in the near term, while simultaneously positioning the business processes to scale effectively with projected company growth in the future.


Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Management Information System, Industrial/Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain and/or a related field
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain and Operations functions
  • Exposure to Planning and Inventory fundamentals
  • Exposure to ERP Systems
  • Exposure to Product Life Cycle concepts and/or systems such as Oracle Agile PLM
  • Skilled in Project management and team leadership
  • Capable of applying resourceful and creative thought processes to resolve complex problems 
  • Strong relationship building, teamwork and communication skills 
  • Experience effectively translating between business value, requirements, and technical solutions
  • Strong analytical skills to support independent, high velocity, high quality decisions
  • Experience with big data, Business Intelligence tools, simulation, modeling, and statistics
  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, challenging and rewarding environment
  • Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities based on workload and direction from management and/or customers
  • Skilled in articulating value and developing effective business cases
  • Adept at influencing cross functionally, developing consensus, and moving the business forward
  • Ability to translate business needs into system-based solutions
  • Strong skills utilizing standard Microsoft tools such as Excel, Access, Word, Visio, SharePoint, Project, and Power Point
  • Able to commit to a 10-12 week internship
