Industrial Maintenance Management Trainee

Industrial maintenance management trainees will gain knowledge and training in various areas within the maintenance departments of the fresh pork processing plant within Seaboard Foods. Trainees will work with various mechanical systems such as conveyors, belts, motors, refrigeration, automation and more. The training period will take place in our fresh pork processing plant in Guymon, OK. Upon completion of the training period, Industrial Maintenance trainees will be able to apply for open positions in our processing plant and be promoted within Seaboard Foods. If you’re someone who has a mechanical aptitude and experience with electrical maintenance, refrigeration, mechanics, PLCs and troubleshooting, apply today!
 
RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned at management’s discretion.
·        Understanding all areas within the maintenance department, spending some time in each area of the production floor.
·        Having a general mechanical aptitude with some general knowledge in one or more of the following areas: electrical, refrigeration, mechanics, PLCs and troubleshooting.
·        Performing preventative maintenance, general repairs, troubleshooting, and installations.
·        Working on items such as motors, belts, drives, pumps, pressure gauges, robotics, circuit boards, relays, fuses and more.

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university or college, an Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Related fields of study include industrial engineering, ag systems & technology, technical certificates or degrees in electrical, refrigeration, or other technical fields, or other related fields or experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude and general understanding of conveyors, electrical motors, calipers, pneumatics and air cylinders, HVAC, air compressors, plumbing, torque wrenches and multipliers, and more.
  • Strong sense of urgency and works well in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Good critical thinking and judgement skills to reach the best possible solution to a problem.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of people such as employees, managers, and senior management.
  • Stand for extended periods of time – typically 8-10 hours a day.

  • Orientation and connected food system overview, with exposure and understanding of core areas of the business, including support departments
  • Specific technical training in areas of interest and skills, depending upon needs

  • Trainees may be asked to work in various areas and locations in production, processing, or support areas, as needed throughout the training period
