Engineer (Mechanical)

Education: Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in designated area of specialization or related discipline from an accredited college/university.
 
Months/Years of Experience: Three (3) years of experience performing engineering duties in designing, constructing, and testing aircraft, missiles, and spacecraft; and conducting basic and applied research to evaluate adaptability of materials and equipment to aircraft design and manufacture.
 
Duties: Work in a team of mechanical designers to support various DoD programs using 2D & 3D computer aided design software to translate requirements into component and system designs. Support design reviews and create associated fabrication and assembly drawings. Perform drawing checks for parts and assemblies in support of initial release and design revisions. Communicate with engineers, technicians, and customers to discover and develop requirements with the goal of optimizing current and future designs. Develop models and drawings meeting ASME and Military standard formats to support technical data packages.
 
Required Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Experience related to designing mechanical parts, assemblies, and creating drawings. Working knowledge of ASME Y14 Engineering Drawing Practices. Strong understanding of CAD modeling best practices, product data structure, and Bill of Material. Solidworks and AutoCAD experience. Inventor, Vault, and Solidworks PDM experience a plus. Experience conducting stress analysis using ANSYS.
 
Desired Qualifications: Development of Army technical data packages (TDP) in accordance with MIL-DTL-31000, configuration management practices, and engineering change management practices desired.
