U1900012 - Postdoctoral Associate - Pharmacy
Position Summary:
This position provides advanced training in Health Outcomes, Pharmacoinformatics and Epidemiology. The program provides training to conduct post-marketing drug utilization literature review (DUR), Retrospective Drug Utilization Review (retroDUR) research and Drug-Cap initiative research as part of the collaboration with the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) for NYS Medicaid program. Opportunities will be available to receive training in epidemiology, biostatistics, and/or clinical study design by using large databases to predict and evaluate outcomes of acute and chronic medications with faculty members from pharmacy and dental school. Opportunities will be available to train and coordinate activities of introductory (IPPE) and advanced pharmacy practice experience (APPE) students. The candidate should be self-motivated, an independent worker, possess strong analytical skills, and excellent written and verbal communication.
Position Responsibilities Include:
•Plan, conduct, and disseminate results for 2-3 distinct research projects using large databases outside of the NYS Medicaid program, including regional, national and international databases
•Work with pharmacy students in didactic and experiential settings.
•Work with Drug Information Response Center (DIRC) team to provide timely, evidence-based information on pharmacotherapy to NY Medicaid prescribers
•Work with the RetroDUR team to review outpatient profiles to ensure that prescriptions are appropriate, medically necessary, and not likely to result in adverse medical outcomes using current evidence-based guidelines

Minimum Qualifications:
Doctor of Pharmacy degree, completion of residency and/or 1 year of fellowship, must be a licensed pharmacist or eligible for pharmacy licensure in New York State.
Preferred Qualifications:
Fluency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin Chinese, familiarity with health care delivery in multiple models
