F1700153 Repost - Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor - Pharmacy

Position Summary:
The University at Buffalo (UB) Department of Pharmacy Practice is seeking a qualified rank (clinical-track) faculty at the assistant, associate or full professor level.

Practice and/or research specialty/focus of the position: Internal/Family Medicine with a focus on Transitions of Care.

Responsibilities to include:

Didactic and experiential teaching activities:
The faculty member will provide didactic teaching in required and elective courses as agreed to with the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice; participate in simulation-based learning teaching; and, participate in curriculum planning and assessment. The faculty member will serve as their clinical training site’s School liaison (to coordinate and oversee the experiential activities and training of PharmD students). This will include: interfacing with and training site-based preceptors; overseeing APPE and IPPE students assigned to him/her by serving as a clinical preceptor in the area of his/her focus; and, assisting with the training of APPE and IPPE students assigned to site-based preceptors. The faculty member will also engage in and facilitate the professional development of the pharmacy/medical staff at the respective institution.

Scholarship:
The faculty member will develop and engage in independent and collaborative scholarly activities in his/her area of expertise. Collaborative scholarship is strongly encouraged among faculty colleagues and site-based preceptors.

Service:
The faculty member will have a unique opportunity to lead the development and implementation of a layered learning model consisting of experiential rotations (APPE and IPPE) with a focus on transitions of care within identified health care institution(s) in Western New York. This person will also serve the Department, School, and University (i.e., through active participation on committees) as agreed to with the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice.

Minimum Qualifications:
PharmD and postdoctoral training (PGY1); and, PGY2/post-doctoral-fellowship or equivalent experience.

Candidates must be licensed, or eligible for licensure in NY State.

Candidates are expected to have a track record of scholarly productivity commensurate with their level of experience. The department/school is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
