Process Engineer (Semiconductor / Electronics Manufacturing)
Process Engineer (Semiconductor / Electronics Manufacturing)
We are seeking a Process Engineer with experience supporting semiconductor packaging, electronics manufacturing, or board-level assembly operations. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a cleanroom manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes related to PCB, PCBA, CCA, or semiconductor assembly.
The role is based onsite in San Diego, California. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Preferred Experience- BGA (Ball Grid Array) assembly and manufacturing processes- Failure analysis and root cause investigations- Electronics manufacturing process development and optimization
Education & Experience- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment- Semiconductor, electronics, PCB assembly, or advanced manufacturing experience preferred
Required Qualifications- Experience supporting manufacturing processes in a production environment- Exposure to BGA (Ball Grid Array) assembly or related semiconductor packaging processes- Failure analysis and root cause investigation experience- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills- Ability to work cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams
What You'll Do
You'll be embedded in a cleanroom manufacturing environment, supporting day-to-day production operations while driving process improvements across PCB, PCBA, CCA, and semiconductor packaging lines. This means getting hands-on with the line, not just reviewing data from a desk.
Core responsibilities include:- Supporting and monitoring manufacturing processes to ensure quality and yield targets are met- Investigating failures and leading root cause analysis efforts when things go wrong on the line- Developing and optimizing assembly and packaging processes, with a focus on BGA and related technologies- Collaborating with quality and manufacturing teams to implement corrective actions- Documenting processes, generating engineering reports, and maintaining technical records- Participating in cross-functional reviews and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
About You
You've spent at least two years working in a manufacturing environment and you know your way around a cleanroom. You have real experience with BGA assembly or semiconductor packaging — not just textbook familiarity. When something fails on the line, you're the one people come to figure out why.
A bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field is preferred, though equivalent hands-on experience in semiconductor or electronics manufacturing carries weight here.
You work well across teams — manufacturing, quality, engineering — and you can communicate findings clearly without needing to oversimplify everything.
