Product Chemistry and Modeling Summer Intern

About the Role

At Haleon, we're passionate about developing and improving consumer healthcare products that help millions of people feel better every day. As part of the R&D Product Chemistry team, you'll help scientists understand how product ingredients and formulations impact product performance through laboratory testing, data analysis, and modeling.

This internship is a unique opportunity to combine science, mathematics, and technology while working on real product development challenges. You'll gain hands-on experience with advanced analytical tools, explore how scientific data can be used to predict product behavior, and contribute to projects that help shape the next generation of consumer healthcare products.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct laboratory experiments and use analytical instruments to evaluate product characteristics and performance.
  • Analyze scientific data and support the development of models that predict product behavior and performance.
  • Contribute to research projects focused on formulation, product chemistry, and process understanding.
  • Explore new technologies, software, and analytical approaches that enhance our research capabilities.
  • Present project findings and recommendations while maintaining a safe and organized laboratory environment.

Essential Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Interest in laboratory research, data analysis, and scientific modeling.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with coding, data analysis, or scientific computing tools.
  • Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and data interpretation.
  • Research, project, or coursework experience involving experimental design or analytical techniques.

Eligibility and Program Requirements:

  • This internship requires working at the designated location. Candidates requiring relocation are responsible for arranging and funding their own housing, transportation, and relocation needs.
  • Candidate must be able to work full-time (40 hours/ week) Monday-Friday ~8am-5pm for [12 weeks.]
  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship in the future. Work authorization documentation will be required during the application process.
  • The position is based in Richmond, requiring an in-office presence of 4-5 days per week

 

Expected start date: June 2027  

Compensation for this internship is based on academic standing and degree program:

  • Freshman: $20.00/hour
  • Sophomore: $22.50/hour
  • Junior: $24.50/hour
  • Senior: $26.00/hour
  • Master's Student (Non-Engineering): $28.00/hour
  • Master's Student (Engineering): $30.00/hour
