We are currently looking for a Purchasing Critical Minerals Intern to join our team in Franklin, TN. Our team researches and develops sourcing strategies for critical materials that support vehicle electrification, with a focus on rare earth metals and magnets. This internship provides hands-on experience analyzing global supply chains, engaging with potential suppliers, tracking sourcing initiatives, and presenting insights that support real business decisions. It's an excellent opportunity for students who enjoy problem-solving, research, and translating complex information into actionable recommendations.

 

A Day in the Life:

Research rare earth metals, magnets, and their role within Nissan's electrification supply chain.

Analyze global rare earth supply chains and evaluate market trends, risks, and opportunities.

Identify, research, and engage with potential suppliers that support critical mineral sourcing strategies.

Track and report on sourcing initiatives, cost reduction activities, process improvements, and key program objectives.

Develop presentations and recommendations to support strategic sourcing decisions and business planning.

 

Who We’re Looking For:

Required:

Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Supply Chain Management, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.

Students entering their Junior, Senior, or Master's program at the start of the upcoming academic term.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across teams and stakeholders.

Ability to synthesize large amounts of information and identify key insights, trends, and recommendations.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Ability to summarize complex technical or business topics into clear, concise presentations and reports.

Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.

GPA of 3.0 or above (Candidates will be required to provide an official or unofficial transcript during the application process for verification.)

Ability to perform work onsite at Franklin, TN.
