This Opportunity
Komline is a high-growth private company with operations across eighteen locations in the US and Canada. We are growing our team and seeking candidates who excel in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment. Our Process Engineers are the process experts behind every sale. You will figure out how a customer's water, sludge, or process stream will behave in our equipment, then design the system and stand behind the performance we guarantee. Depending on your interests, the role can focus on testing and process development, or on designing membrane and other treatment systems for municipal and industrial customers.

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead laboratory and pilot-scale tests on customer materials to evaluate separation, dewatering, drying, and membrane performance
  • Develop process designs, P&IDs, system layouts, and equipment specifications, and use mass and energy balances to size equipment
  • Support proposals with process recommendations, performance guarantees, and cost estimates, working with sales, mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams
  • Support factory testing, startup, and troubleshooting at customer sites, and serve as a technical resource to customers and our service teams

Required Qualifications (Level I):

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Environmental, or Civil Engineering
  • Strong foundation in separation processes, fluid mechanics, and mass and energy balances
  • Hands-on laboratory, pilot, or design experience through research, co-ops, or internships
  • Ability to communicate technical results clearly to customers and internal teams, in writing and in presentations
  • Ability to lift parts with or without assistance up to 30lbs

Preferred Qualifications (Level II):

  • 3+ Years of Experience as a Process Engineer
  • Experience with water and wastewater treatment, membranes and reverse osmosis, or solid-liquid separation
  • Process simulation (Aspen Plus or similar) or P&ID software experience

Venice, Florida (Komline-Harn)
Komline-Harn is on Florida's Gulf Coast, about 20 miles south of Sarasota. Since 1972 the team has designed and built membrane and reverse osmosis treatment plants that turn brackish water and seawater into drinking water for municipal and industrial customers. Engineers here focus on membrane process design, developing system layouts, P&IDs, and specifications for new plants and retrofits, then supporting them through factory testing and startup.

Peapack, New Jersey (Komline-Sanderson, Headquarters)
Our headquarters is in the rolling hills of Somerset County, about 45 miles west of New York City. Komline-Sanderson designs and builds the dewatering, thickening, and drying equipment that municipal wastewater plants and industrial customers rely on to process sludge and slurries. Engineers here lead our test lab, running laboratory and pilot-scale tests on customer materials and turning the results into equipment sizing, performance guarantees, and new product development.

Travel: Occasional travel to customer sites for testing and startup
