This Opportunity:
Komline is a high-growth private company with operations across eighteen locations in the US and Canada. We are growing our team and seeking candidates who excel in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment. Our Mechanical Engineers take equipment from design concept to the shop floor to the field. Depending on your interests and experience, the role can focus on design engineering, project engineering, or manufacturing engineering, with room to move between them as you grow.
Responsibilities:
- Develop electrical control designs and drawing packages using national, local, and customer specifications
- Create PLC and HMI programs to company and customer specifications
- Conduct internal system run-off with the project and production teams, and support installation and startup at customer facilities
- Review customer specifications, coordinate with other departments, and provide status reports internally and to the customer
Required Qualifications (Level I):
- A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Knowledge of control systems and automation through coursework, co-ops, internships, or project teams
- Familiarity with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, or similar)
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical
- Comfortable working in industrial facilities such as automotive plants
Additional Qualifications (Level I):
- 3+ Years of experience as a Controls or Electrical Engineer
- Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 79, UL 508A, IEC 60204, and CSA standards
- Experience with EPLAN or other PLC/HMI platforms (GE, Omron, Mitsubishi, Square D)

Southfield, Michigan (Komline-Filtra)
The engineering hub for our Industrial business is located 15 miles northwest of downtown Detroit. The team engineers custom filtration systems for metalworking, wastewater, chemical, mining, and steel customers, with more than 21,000 systems installed in 37 countries. Engineers here design new systems and own customer projects from first drawings through shop testing and startup in the field.
Rockford, Illinois (Komline-Barnes)
Our largest facility, Komline-Barnes is about 85 miles northwest of Chicago. The team designs and fabricates filtration systems that clean the coolants and fluids used in industrial machining and manufacturing. Engineers here own customer projects from design through fabrication, testing, and delivery.
