Job Purpose

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our Manufacturing Science and Technology team under Technical Operations. This internship offers hands-on experience in process development/technology transfer, exposure to real-world projects, and an opportunity to develop professional skills in a collaborative environment. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist the engineer/scientist in executing trials for Xeris’ technology platform products, focusing on mixing, product transfer, and filling unit operations.  
  • Drafting test study protocols and reports, data management, and analysis.
  • Support MS&T team in day-to-day operations as needed. 
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams as needed.
  • At the conclusion of the internship, prepare a comprehensive review of the internship experience and present to the organization.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, pursuing a degree in the engineering or scientific field, and has completed a minimum of 2 years of undergraduate studies
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Returning to an academic program at a credentialed institution for at least one semester post-internship
  • Strong interest in pharmaceutical development and manufacturing
  • Competencies: Teamwork & Collaboration, Attention to Detail, Self-Starter, Analytical skills, Problem Solving, Organizational skills, Adaptability, Professionalism, Written and Verbal Communications, Presentation skills
  • Skills required
    • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Thrive in a fast-paced, diverse work environment
  • Skills preferred
    • Knowledge of pharmaceutical processes and unit operations
    • Technical Writing
    • Data Management/Analysis
    • Working in a lab environment. Understanding of laboratory guidelines and principles.

 

Working Conditions

  • Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary to fulfill obligations.
  • This role is based in Xeris’ Chicago office and requires five days per week in the office. On-site requirement may change at management’s discretion.
