About the Opportunity
This role provides a unique opportunity to develop as an Analytics Engineer, Report Developer, and Business Analyst simultaneously. As a member of the Analytics team, you'll gain hands-on experience building data solutions, developing reporting assets, and delivering insights that help drive business decisions.

Location Requirements

  • Note: W.B. Mason will not provide relocation assistance for this position.
  • This role will operate in a hybrid working environment, meaning employees will work partly remote and partly in-office, with in-office time required at least once per week. The primary in-office location for this role is located at our Corporate Headquarters Office in Brockton, MA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Analytics Engineering

Help build and maintain the data foundation that powers reporting and analysis across the organization.

  • Partner with senior team members to develop scalable data solutions
  • Develop and maintain data assets within Microsoft Fabric
  • Write SQL, SparkSQL, and PySpark code to transform and prepare data for reporting and analysis
  • Improve data quality, automation, and analytical processes

Report Development

Create reporting solutions that help stakeholders understand and act on data.

  • Develop and maintain Microsoft Fabric semantic models, dashboards, and reports
  • Create reporting solutions that track key performance indicators and business outcomes
  • Design clear visualizations that communicate trends, opportunities, and challenges
  • Continuously improve reporting through automation, standardization, and user feedback

Analysis 

Use data to answer business questions and support decision making.

  • Analyze business problems using data-driven approaches
  • Identify trends, opportunities, and root causes
  • Routinely prepare and communicate analytical findings, insights, and recommendations to business stakeholders and executive leadership through verbal presentations and written communication.
  • Help translate analytical insights into actionable business decisions
  • Collaborate with teammates and business partners to solve problems and deliver results
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

 

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline
  • 1 year of analytical experience through internships, cooperative education programs, academic projects, extracurricular activities, or full-time employment
  • Foundational understanding of SQL and Python-based coding concepts used to acquire, transform, and prepare data for reporting and analysis.
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards, and visualizations in Power BI or Tableau that transform data into clear, actionable insights for business users.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel to organize, transform, analyze, and visualize data in support of reporting and business decision making.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, SparkSQL, PySpark, or R through coursework, internships, projects, or professional experience
  • Experience developing semantic models and writing DAX calculations in Power BI
  • Experience using web analytics platforms such as Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics
