Seeking a driven, analytical, and creative student with excellent communication skills and a passion for learning to support college and early-career recruiting efforts for one of the nation's leading construction companies.

This internship provides exposure to talent acquisition, human resources, marketing, workforce analytics, and campus recruiting initiatives.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Overall assistance with day-to-day recruiting needs that range from applicant tracking system maintenance, recruitment and employment data analysis, candidate screening process support, employee onboarding assistance, and internship program coordination.

This position reports to a senior recruiting coordinator collaborates closely with a team of recruiting coordinators and hiring managers.

Human resources, marketing, business, data analytics, or construction management.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

This role assists day-to-day recruiting activities that range from applicant tracking system maintenance, recruitment and employment data analysis, candidate screening support, employee onboarding assistance, internship program coordination, and collaboration with recruiters and hiring executives.

This position reports to a Senior Recruiting Coordinator and collaborates closely with a team of recruiting coordinators and hiring managers. 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrate poise, tact, and discretion when interacting with leadership and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, and accountability when handling confidential information and managing candidate, hiring manager, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Must be a persistent problem solver, eager for challenges, and driven to find creative and efficient solutions.
  • Must have the skill and desire to work with people within diverse teams and varying levels of management.  
  • Must be able to learn and manage complex workflows and detailed processes efficiently, while demonstrating the flexibility to pivot priorities as company objectives evolve.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficient in Excel and have an interest in data analysis and reporting (e.g., PowerBi).

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Update candidate information on our ATS (Applicant Tracking System) platform including vetting stages, uploading evaluation paperwork, and organizing candidates across multiple job postings.
  • Maintain recruiting reports and dashboards for recruitment and hiring statistics (Excel, PowerBi, Smartsheet, Rival ATS/Onboarding software).
  • Data analysis of recruitment and hiring data from multiple sources.
  • Assist with candidate correspondence, scheduling interviews, and managing various steps in the candidate vetting process.
  • Perform basic candidate screening, including resume screening and virtual interviews.
  • Assist with employee onboarding tasks including updating candidate information and tracking task completion.
  • Source candidates on various platforms such as Handshake and LinkedIn.
  • Assist with the engineering intern program, including event planning, correspondence with interns, correspondence with external vendors, coordinating with and visiting various Whiting-Turner construction sites, and commuting to various event locations across the greater Baltimore area.
  • Collaborate with college campus recruiting teams to execute campus recruiting strategies, including event planning, marketing, event attendance, targeted candidate outreach, and collaboration with school faculty.
  • Must be willing and able to periodically travel to recruiting events at college campuses throughout the Mid-Atlantic (Primarily during fall & spring internships).  
  • Assist with local high school outreach and career related event participation and planning.
  • Assist with mentor program for new employees, including event planning, correspondence with new hires, correspondence with external vendors, and commuting to various event locations across the greater Baltimore area.

 

 

**The Company’s salary ranges are dependent on a number of factors including but not limited to role, level and location. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of various factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education, location, and experience, applicant’s abilities and market and business considerations. The annual base salary range listed is subject to change at any time, in the Company’s discretion, and does not alter in any way the at-will nature of the employment relationship. The foregoing information reflects base salary only and does not include other forms of available compensation to which employees may be entitled including but not limited to profit sharing, stock appreciation rights, retirement compensation, travel subsistence, vacation, sick leave, parental leave, healthcare, life insurance, disability insurance, and other compensations/benefits, which are dependent upon various factors including but not limited to years of service, location, performance, etc.

This salary range is for Maryland only.
