Transmission Line Intern

Job Summary

Develop, design, analyze and evaluate transmission facility additions/modifications by applying engineering theories, principles, and practices that contribute to safe, reliable, and cost-effective transmission line designs.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide detailed design for high voltage transmission line projects. This will include, but not limited to, building new lines, re-building and modifying existing facilities, fiber installations, and customer relocations.
Provide field support for construction activities related to transmission line projects. This will include, but not limited to, construction site visits and project meetings.
Interface with other departments or groups such as Project Management, Construction, Supply Chain, Permitting, Real Estate, Right of Way Administration, and Transmission O&M.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences required for entry into this job include the following:

Self-motivator who has the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, but is comfortable independently seeking knowledge and information
Strong time management skills with the ability to independently plan and organize work assignments
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with AutoCAD is a plus

Education Requirements

Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program that is ABET accredited majoring in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
Must have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
Must have a graduation date of Fall 2028 or 2029.

What You'll Get

Hourly Rate:

$23.00 - $29.00

The hourly rate listed is the rate we anticipate paying for this position. If a range is listed, the actual hourly rate offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate's degree type, academic major, and/or school classification (e.g., sophomore, junior, senior).
