Job Role: The PLC Programmer – New Graduate will assist in developing automation solutions and gain practical experience in electrical control systems. Working closely with experienced engineers and design teams, this role offers mentorship, training, and hands-on involvement in building advanced refrigeration systems.
Key Duties:
· Assist with the setup and startup of hardware/software for PLCs, job PCs, HMIs, VFDs, and control/communications networks.
· Support programming of PLCs using Automation Direct and Allen Bradley platforms.
· Help create HMI graphic screens, primarily using Wonderware Intouch.
· Work with project design engineers to update as-built electrical drawings.
· Provide support to the Service Department in troubleshooting programming and electrical issues.
· Assist field teams with on-site troubleshooting.
· Communicate with vendors to clarify part specs and fabrication details.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Electronics Engineering.
· Basic understanding of PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems in manufacturing.
· Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 25% during first 1–2 years).
· Comfortable working at heights.
· This is a safety-sensitive position and requires pre-employment and ongoing drug testing.
· Must be able to remain in a stationary position (seated or standing) for extended periods.
· Occasionally may need to lift or carry items up to 25 pounds (e.g., office supplies, small equipment).
Preferences:
· Familiarity with Allen Bradley or Automation Direct PLCs.
· EIT License.
· Interest in pursuing PE licensure.
