Controls/Automation Engineer - Full Time Entry Level

ThermalTech Engineering is a full-service engineering firm. We provide consulting services to Fortune 100 and 500 companies throughout the United States. Our team of over 150 members is growing! We are looking for full-time, entry-level engineers to perform Automation design & start-up for technically challenging industrial projects. Applicable Interests:

 

  • Strong academic performance in an ABET-accredited Engineering or Computer Science program (a minimum of 3.3 is required for consideration).
  • Experience/coursework and interest in automatic process control theory, power system analysis, electrical machines, and/or industrial control systems.
  • Interest in developing engineering drawings, device selection, programming, and hands-on fieldwork including start-up.
  • Interest in working on a variety of projects for clients, gradually progressing in technical complexity and professional responsibility.
  • Willingness to complete FE exam before or at the time of hire.

 

You will work with an experienced engineer to learn the following skills:

 

  • Design control panels, create electrical schematics, select field devices, and program PLCs.
  • Develop SCADA systems including HMI graphics, databases/historians, batching systems, and server infrastructure.
  • Prepare drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Perform fieldwork and troubleshooting in a variety of industrial facilities.
  • Start up and commission equipment.
  • Set up networking, wireless, wired, virtual/cloud LAN/WAN technologies, and security.
  • Meet with clients, contractors, and colleagues throughout the design and construction process. Build and maintain long-term relationships.

 

 

This position provides an opportunity for periodic project-related travel.
