Distribution Operations
We are looking for dependable, hands‑on, and resourceful people to join our Distribution Operations team at McMaster-Carr!
Who We Are
McMaster-Carr is a trusted e‑commerce company that has kept industry in motion for over 120 years. Every day, hundreds of thousands of customers rely on our website, app, or catalog to find the parts they need and get them fast. Our work helps customers keep manufacturing lines running, maintain critical operations, and build what comes next.
Behind the scenes of that experience is our distribution network - world‑class facilities where talented people ensure every order is fulfilled with accuracy, care, and speed. Whether we’re picking a single part or packaging a complex shipment, the work we do directly impacts customers across industries such as aerospace, medical, agriculture, entertainment, food and beverage, and more.
Who You Are
You are dependable, hardworking, and eager to contribute to a high‑performing environment. You’ve taken initiative in your college or work experiences - owning responsibilities, following structured processes, and delivering consistent results. You enjoy physical, hands‑on work and take pride in doing things the right way.
We welcome students from all majors - Business, Engineering, Psychology, Criminal Justice, and more - because strong judgment, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn matter more than any one academic background. If you’re excited to grow your capabilities, work with technology‑supported systems, and be part of a team committed to excellence, we’d love to meet you!
What You’ll Do
Distribution Operations Specialists support the essential work that gets products into customers’ hands quickly and accurately. You’ll begin by developing deep expertise in one core role within our facility. From there, you’ll expand your skillset and take on new responsibilities, such as:
- Fulfilling customer orders with precision to support their business needs
- Preparing outgoing packages and conducting quality checks to ensure accuracy and presentation
- Handling oversized or heavy inventory using powered industrial vehicles (training provided)
This is a fast‑paced, hands‑on role ideal for individuals who are energized by physical work, structured processes, and delivering high‑quality results. Our facilities are clean, temperature‑controlled, and designed to help you do your best work every day.
Be Rewarded
Total cash compensation generally ranges from $95,500–$108,500, which includes base pay and annual profit sharing based on company profitability. In addition, you will be eligible for company‑funded retirement contributions.
We are committed to comprehensive benefits to support employees and their dependents, such as:
- 100% tuition reimbursement
- Medical, dental, pharmacy, and vision plans with no monthly premiums
- First‑time home buyer assistance
- Paid time off for vacation and personal time
