At Dean Snyder Construction, our Engineering Interns work alongside experienced Superintendents and project teams on active industrial and commercial construction projects. You’ll gain hands-on experience with the people, technology, planning, and problem-solving that bring major construction projects to life.

This isn’t a job-shadowing internship. You’ll be part of the project team.
What You’ll Get to Do
● Work directly on active construction jobsites
● Learn construction layout using total stations, lasers, and surveying technology
● Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings, and shop drawings
● Work alongside experienced Superintendents, Field Engineers, and project professionals
● Learn scheduling, short-interval planning, and project coordination
● Help coordinate subcontractors, vendors, craft employees, and project teams
● Assist with quality control and monitoring project progress
● Gain experience with construction technology and field documentation
● Learn real-world OSHA and jobsite safety practices
● Get hands-on exposure to concrete, steel, carpentry, and other construction activities
● Help identify field challenges and learn how construction teams solve them in real time

What We’re Looking For
You may be a great fit if you are:
● Pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
● Interested in industrial or commercial construction
● Comfortable learning in an active jobsite environment
● Willing to get your boots dirty and learn both the technical and hands-on sides of construction
● Organized, dependable, curious, and ready to ask questions
● A strong communicator who enjoys working as part of a team
● Interested in building a long-term career in construction
Previous construction experience is preferred but not required. We’re looking for students who are ready to learn.
A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet company Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) standards are required.
