Mechanical Engineer

University Facilities & Services (UF&S) provides key infrastructure support for over 15 million square feet of building space and more than 700 acres while serving the River Campus, the Medical Center, the Eastman School of Music, the Memorial Art Gallery and several other specialized sites spread throughout the greater Rochester region.
To meet that need, UF&S is now seeking Mechanical Engineers to join their team. UF&S Mechanical Engineers design building systems, and provide a full range of professional mechanical engineering services in all phases of research, design and construction.
Their focus is on:
Managing in-house mechanical design projects, including planning, scheduling, estimating, client contact, preliminary and final design/drawings, preparation of contract documents, bidding, field supervision, project inspection, and approval.
Providing professional advice and judgment in application of building and fire codes, project procedures, project documents, and relationships with clients.
Preparing recommendations on building maintenance to University-owned facilities.
The desired candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 6 years of experience in mechanical engineering preferred.
- Solid understanding of building systems, including HVAC, boilers and chillers.
- New York State Mechanical Engineer license preferred. EIT Required.
