Social Infrastructure Financing Analyst

Role: Social Infrastructure Financing – Analyst

Business: Public Finance & Solutions (PF&S)

Role Purpose

  • Support the Public Finance & Solutions (PF&S) Municipals lending business with a focus on social infrastructure (e.g., education, healthcare, affordable housing, public safety, civic and community facilities), providing analytical and execution support across origination, underwriting, and deal execution.
  • Work closely with senior bankers and product partners to deliver high-quality analysis, materials, and process management in support of client coverage and a leading US Rates / Munis franchise.

Core Responsibilities

  • Financial analysis and modeling: Build and maintain Excel-based models (cash flow, debt service, coverage, sources & uses), perform scenario/sensitivity analysis, and support credit metrics and rating considerations.
  • Underwriting support: Assist in preparing credit write-ups, term sheets, and internal approval materials; compile borrower/obligor information; and support structuring discussions around covenants, security packages, and repayment sources.
  • Due diligence and research: Gather and synthesize information from offering documents, audits, feasibility studies, demographic/economic data, and project materials; track key risks and mitigants for social infrastructure credits.
  • Marketing and client materials: Create and refine pitch books, lender presentations, market/sector updates, and transaction summaries; ensure materials are accurate, consistent, and tailored to client needs.
  • Transaction execution and process management: Coordinate timelines and workstreams with internal partners (Credit, Legal, Compliance, Operations, Syndicate/Capital Markets) and external parties (issuers, counsel, advisors) to support efficient closings.
  • Portfolio and market monitoring: Help track portfolio exposures, covenant/reporting requirements, and watchlist items; monitor municipal market conditions and relevant policy/regulatory developments impacting social infrastructure sectors.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship or academic experience in fixed income, public finance, infrastructure, project finance, credit, or structured finance (not required).
  • Understanding of municipal market sectors, including hospitals/health systems, and other community facilities.
  • Coursework in accounting, corporate finance, statistics/econometrics, or public sector budgeting.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Public Policy, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field with strong analytical rigor.
  • Analytical skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze financial statements and cash flows, build structured analyses, and communicate conclusions clearly.
  • Technical skills: Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; comfort working with large datasets. Familiarity with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Mindset: High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity about municipal finance and public-purpose projects, strong ownership, and the ability to prioritize in a deadline-driven environment.
