Junior Engineer
Position Summary:
The Junior Engineer supports the Engineering Department in developing technical drawings, coordinating with internal teams, and assisting in the preparation of shop drawings and fabrication details. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with 0–2 years of experience who are eager to learn window systems, construction processes, and Skyline standards. The role involves hands-on training, close mentorship, and exposure to engineering workflows.
Essential Functions:
- Interpretation of architectural details and drawings
- Assist in preparation and revision of AutoCAD drawings
- Support senior engineers in shop drawing development
- Perform basic field measurements and documentation
- Create hand sketches and markups under supervision
- Maintain accurate project data and documentation
- Communicate effectively with Engineering, PM, and Sales teams
- Participate in training and apply learned standards
Knowledge, Skill & Ability:
- Strong AutoCAD fundamentals
- Basic understanding of architectural drawings and shop drawings
- Good Excel skills (basic formulas, organization)
- Basic construction and hand tool knowledge
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to learn quickly and follow direction
Experience & Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
- 0-2 Years of Experience
- Window industry experience a plus
- Metal Panel /Slab Cover experience a plus
- Curtain Wall experience a plus
- 3D Drawing ability a plus
- Architectural façade experience a plus
- AutoCAD experience required (Intermediate Level)
